EXPERIENCE

Design Director at Fame and Partners – March 2018 to current

Design Director in process of leading a significant brand shift for Fame and Partners. Key initiatives include shaping the overall design and aesthetic direction, category expansions into day dresses, separates, jackets and tailoring, overall improved fit and quality standards, and an emphasis on sustainable sourcing and supply chain accountability. Very hands on during the end-to-end design process, including frequent and independent travel to partner factories overseas in order to expedite fitting and development, and maintain positive partner relationships.

Design Director at L'Agence – August 2017 to February 2018

Design team leader focused on the evolution of all non-denim categories for L’Agence.  Responsible for building and delivering robust creative direction for each season including defined trend direction, sourcing notes, key looks and storyline. Upon starting, successfully introduced several quick-turn styles for Spring ‘18 market week, resulting in top booking numbers, store exclusive requests and re-orders for these items. Introduced more efficient working processes to the design team and initiated more effective  and collaborative relationships across related departments.  A knowledgeable resource beyond the design team with an earned reputation for taking a positive approach to both direct-report and indirect management and troubleshooting.

Senior Designer at Reformation – Oct 2014 to May 2017

Head designer leading the research, ideation, and development of new products across all categories at Reformation. Responsible for analyzing emerging trends against consumer appetite to build product recommendations responding to current demand, while continuing to test new territory. Key contributor of seasonal analyses - layered with and informed by vintage inspiration - to build out overarching themes, color palette, fabric and silhouette direction. Accountable for producing a continual flow of new collection and product concepts, hand sketched and presented weekly. Known for having a high level of creative output, exceptional sketching ability, and directional point of view.

Design Contributor for WGSN (Formerly Stylesight.com) – Sep 2013 to Present

Independent contributor providing design and CAD illustration work exclusively for WGSN’s trend forecasting analyses and reports. Categories contributed to include womenswear, menswear, juniors, denim, knitwear, footwear and accessories. Necessary aptitudes include: a high level of creativity; strong and diverse technical knowledge; intelligent and on-point interpretation of design direction and trends; excellent collaborative and project management skills; and an ability for effective personal critique.

Designer at LF USA – Jul 2007 to Nov 2013

Launch collection designer focused on the development and pitch of new brands. Recognized for the successful introduction of several new labels from contemporary to mass-market levels including but not limited to collaborations with Vera Wang, Peter Som, Narciso Rodriguez, and Keds for Opening Ceremony. Responsible for overseeing both the creative and project-managerial aspects of the complete design process from initial concept, to domestic sample development and handoff to overseas partners for production. An appointed member of Li & Fung’s Sustainable Apparel Coalition committee, and participant in the ongoing evaluation of the Higg Index.
